of Virchow Laboratories

The medical team in Shanghai is headed by the member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Manfred Dietel (Chairman of the board), Prof. Dr. Gao Lijin (Chief Pathologist, Shanghai EAST Hospital) and Prof. Dr. Yang Hongli (Chief of Molecular Pathology, Shanghai EAST Hospital). Currently 11 medical specialists, a number of doctors in training and 4 biological scientists supplemented by more than 40 technicians are working in the Institute to secure high-quality patient care, research and teaching, especially in the fields of immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology.

More than 10 internationally known consultants are linked to the institute to serve as experts in tele-pathology second opinion procedures.

In addition, the business team of Virchow Laboratories in Shanghai consists of Chang Zheng  (Chief of Administration and Marketing), Markus Fehr (International CEO, Virchow Laboratories Group), Zhang Xiaoping (Local CEO, Virchow Laboratories Group) and a number of helping hands.
